| | | | | | | | Recommendation: | At the May 2, 2017 Regular Council Meeting, Councilmember Mingo brought forth a new business item regarding a study of rock mining. A copy of the new business item is attached as an exhibit. In said meeting, Councilmember Mingo made a motion in support of a resolution in favor of the allocation of $325,000 of non recurring funds from the State of Florida Budget, to be utilized to fund the study of rock mining blasting effects, to be able to review the statewide ground vibration limits for mining construction and to review the legitimate claims of damages caused by such mining activities. As part of the motion, Councilmember Mingo also requested the resolution to be forwarded immediately to the Governor's office. The motion passed by unanimous consent.
On May 9th, said resolution was sent to the Governor's office in order to be considered for the FY 2017-2018 State of Florida Budget. The attached resolution is being presented to the Town Council for ratification.
