Town of Miami Lakes Memorandum To: Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers From: Councilmember Frank Mingo Subject: Informing Residents Date: 2/7/2017 Recommendation: It has come to my attention that many residents are not aware of on-going litigation in which the town is involved, and the cost. This council takes pride on always being transparent and always having the residents informed; for that reason, I would like to implement the following new policies: 1. Have our Town Attorney provide a monthly report at every meeting outlining what (if any) actions has taken place in the previous month for all litigaiton that the town is involved in. 2. Have our Town Attorney provide a monthly report at every meeting outlining the cost (if any) for the previous month for every lawsuit that the town is involved. 3. Post all the above outlined information monthly on our town website. Fiscal Impact: Low
