Our town should be a catalyst for special needs children to have the opportunity to get involved in community, recreation, leisure, and cultural programs. We have consistently honored children's autism programs such as Autism Soccer. Several year sago, we built the Boundless Playground.

But, I believe that we need to improve our offering of programs in our parks that are specifically designed to serve our most blessed children, who have special needs, but are some of our most special young citizens.

I would like the town to commit to developing special needs programming for children and young adults and work with our current vendors to ensure that opportunities are provided to special needs children in their programs.

I would like Miami Lakes to officially adopt a "No Child Gets Left Behind" campaign to further our goal of special needs programming for our special needs children and young adults.

This may require a reallocation of existing resources to coordinate special needs activities, which should always be a priority, especially now that our Youth Center is up and running.
