As a council we have identified public safety as our number one issue. I have always worked to ensure our residents' safety. Several residents have expressed to me that there are people loitering and frequenting the empty Par 3 Central Park at night. The attraction of this park is the total darkness provided at night.

I believe these individuals are engaging in criminal activity.Looking to the future, when the Town acquires Par 3, I would like the existing lights in the park to be turned on at night in order to deter any potential criminal activity. I would like to speak with my colleagues about this matter and I respectfully request staff to look into associated costs of turning on the lights at the park.
